I cannot tell you how much of a pleasure it was to work with Sophie and Rob on their gorgeously bright and colourful wedding day (only same day as old Harry and Meghan's!). Everything about it was right up my street; gorgeous fairylight lit Kent barn venue, Mexican fiesta style bunting and more fresh cut, local flowers than you can shake a stick at! The venue was the Owl's Castle Barn, a little family-run hidden gem in the heart of Culverstone, Kent.
Sophie didn't have a particular colour scheme in mind, as she really wanted to use what was available there and then on the week of her wedding (as a florist, this request is both exciting and terrifying), but the outcome was pretty special, if I do say so myself. With a little help from the Dutch flower market, I created one of my favourite bouquets to date, filled with the last of the seasons' orange ranunculus, the first of the coral charm peonies and an abundance of Kent grown fabulousness including allium, achillea, anemones (plus a whole lot of things I dont even know the names of!)
Her lovely mum Maureen wanted to create the table centres, and they kindly invited me along to one of my favourite places, Blooming Green in Maidstone, to pick some gorgeous stems to fill her mixture of vases and vessels, as well as a few stems to add to the bouquets to give them that extra special touch.

Inside the barn itself, we created an amazing hanging installation over the top of the bar, using some gorgeous willow, which Sophies mum kindly gifted to me. We also created a hanging flower installation over her dessert table (by the way, Sophie and Rob held a bake-off style competition whereby all of their guests had to bring a dessert which they later tested and judged, and if thats not genius I don't know what is!)
It was such a joy to create such bright and happy flowers on such a wonderful happy day, and I think the smiles in the photos speak volumes of what a wonderful day it was. Take a look at the gallery below for a better insight...
