Shannon + Joe, The House Meadow

July 22, 2018

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore every wedding I make and every new couple I meet. But it really is extra special when you get to flower somebodies wedding that you've known for donkeys. Having known Joe since the darling little age of 14, it was a joy to see him 10 years later on the happiest day of his life with lovely Shannon!

They married at the gorgeous setting of The House Meadow who hand-plant their very own wild meadow every year, so each summers' weddings are provided with a different coloured meadow-y backdrop! And therefore it was only fitting that Shannon carried a bouquet in a rustic, meadow-picked style. With her main colour theme to be yellow, it was very easy to design this wonderful wedding. She also opted for all-gypsophila bridesmaid bunches, which really complimented their soft yellow dresses perfectly.

Shannon's bouquet itself was packed full of daisy-esque 'tanacetum', yellow 'penny lane' roses, poppy heads and white scabious to name but a few.

They had a lovely, intimate reception with just 25 of their closest friends and families. To accompany their quaint afternoon tea wedding-breakfast, we created overgrown centrepieces inside vintage birdcages that Shannon had collected, along with garden-inspired bunches in rustic milk jugs, also from Shannon.

The boys wore navy suits, contrasted by their bright yellow craspedia buttonholes. And no, you're not seeing double, Joe just has an identical twin brother.. we hope that didn't get awkward at the altar...!

It really was an honour to have been asked to flower their big day, so thank you and congratulations to the new Mr + Mrs Saunders!

Click through this gallery to see the rest of their wonderful, sunshine-filled day. And thank you to the sweetheart that is Kerry Ann Duffy for sharing all of these amazing photos with me!

Also, I couldn't finish this post without including a teeny tiny throwback (sorry Joe!).. Just be glad we've blossomed into amazing adults!
